Torque about performance.
Plenty to talk about.
A Mercedes-Benz Vito is born from the philosophy that
driving enjoyment shouldn’t be limited to our passenger cars.
Technological refinement and clever engineering make the
Vito both reliable and a pleasure to drive.
The four CDI engines available are dynamic and powerful.
These units owe their high output and impressive torque to the
Common Rail, direct-injection (CDI) diesel technology along
with the four valves per cylinder, a 1800 bar injection system
and an exhaust turbocharger with a variable nozzle turbine.
Great fuel economy figures complement the power and
performance created by these innovative engines. All Vito
EURO 5 engines feature an advanced electronic engine
management system which communicates with the control
units of the transmission and the dynamic handling systems
such as ADAPTIVE ESP
®
.
Rear-wheel drive.
A key feature of the Vito is its rear-wheel drive layout.
This arrangement offers huge advantages for a van’s
dynamic handling properties, turning circle, climbing and
traction, manoeuvrability and safety. It’s a proven concept.
Rear-wheel drive helps to ensure that good handling
characteristics are maintained even when the vehicle is fully
laden. This becomes an important safety factor when dealing
with permissible gross vehicle weight as high as 3.05t.
Power is nothing without control. In addition to the drive
concept, ADAPTIVE ESP
®
and the independent suspension
also play a key role in the Vito’s safe handling characteristics.
